Sucessful U14 Welsh junior training day

U14 Welsh Junior Training day.

Over October half term some of the U14 junior surfers in Wales came
together at Freshwater west for a training day with WSF coaches Phil Sadler & Emily Williams.
Ten surfers from across Wales attended, some of whom were at their
first WSF training session; Summer Moore, Max Davies, Ted Davies, Sunny
Buick, Alma Buick, Florence Hughes, Sonny Williams, Fyn Bell, Dylan Bell
& Ioan David.

We were lucky enough to get clean 2/3ft surf at Freshwater West which
was perfect for the groms to work on the technical skills that we were
focussing on during this session. Training focus included entry to wave,
positioning to catch waves and speed generation/flow.

We kicked off the day with theory and movement workshops at Castlemartin
hall, followed by a surf tag team event at the beach.
The surf was fun after lunch and gave the surfers a few more hours to
surf and work on their surfing techniques. A great day of waves and hard
work from all involved!
Thanks to all who attended and a big thanks to the parents for getting
involved.

We plan on holding further coaching sessions, they will be moved around
the Welsh coast giving the youngsters exposure to different types of
waves. If you are interested in joining the squad or know someone who is
please email ewilliams@wsf.wales AND psadler@wsf.wales for more
information.
