2024 Welsh Champions Crowned in Storm Bert!

We got there in the end! After a series of poor surf forecasts and subsequent contest postponements throughout 2024 (10 dates in total), we managed to finalise the women’s and men’s categories of The Welsh at a stormy Llantwit Major over the weekend.

Conditions weren’t pretty, but Bert brought waves, and that allowed our athletes to get in the water and put on fantastic displays across all categories.

A full report will appear soon on the website, but for now we are delighted to present your Puravida Mipost Welsh National Surfing Champions for 2024.

Put your hands together please for this year’s senior divisions champions:

Women’s Longboard: Sinda Sosdian (CWSC)
Women’s Open: Josie Hawke (PSC)

Men’s 35+: Ryan Thomas (PSC)
Men’s 40+: Greg Owen (WCSC)
Men’s Longboard: Elliot Dudley (CCSC)
Men’s Open: Logan Nicol (CCSC)

Bodyboard: Tai Jackson (WBC)

Barti's 'Wave of the Welsh': Harry Cromwell (PSC) with an 8.33 single wave score.

Huge thanks go to our competitors, and to our spectators who braved the weather at Llantwit Major to be a part of another great Welsh National Surfing Championships. Also diolch yn fawr to our officials, organisers and supporters throughout the weekend.

A massive thank-you to our headline sponsors Puravida Boardriders & MiPost for their terrific support, and a huge thank-you to:

Barti Rum
Welshcoffe Co
Gower Brewery

A big shout of appreciation also to: Christian Surfers Wales; Sport Wales; and WSA (Welsh Sports Association).
