Help Team Wales Get To The World Longboard Champs 2025!
The ISA World Longboard Championships take place in El Salvador this April 25 – May 1, and we’re stoked to be having Welsh representation.
Blake Jones (WCSC), Tom Fisher (LBR) and Georgina Lewtas (PSC) comprise Team Wales this year, but without official grants or sponsorship funding, they are in need of a little support.
It goes without saying that each of our longboarders would be extremely grateful for any donations to help ease the financial burden, so if you’d like to pledge to the gofundme campaign, just click here.
So, who will you be supporting?
Team Wales’ Blake Jones has penned a few intros to the skilled athletes who’ll be flying Y Ddraig Goch in Central America this spring.
We begin with Port Einon’s very own macchiato maestro and Welsh Longboard Champion 2023, Tom Fisher.
Tom Fisher
From scoring overhead barrels in Indonesia—earning him double-page spreads in Carve magazine—to gracefully hanging ten on a 2ft day or carving powerful lines on a 9ft mal, Tom has done it all.
Tom Fisher’s journey in the water began early, riding his first waves at just four years old with his uncle at Llangennith Beach. Growing up on the Gower Peninsula, he was always in or around the sea—whether it was surfing, snorkelling, or spear fishing.
At 16, he took his love for surfing to the competition scene, entering longboard events and representing at British Longboard (BLU) contests. At 18, he pursued another passion, heading to drama school to train as an actor.
He went on to work in TV and film, and it was on the set of the sci-fi film The Machine, shot in Bridgend, where he met his future partner. Now, they live in Port Eynon with their three-year-old son, Otto, running The Beach House Surf & coffe, a surf shop and café that embodies their love for the ocean.
Tom’s 20s and early 30s were spent traveling and chasing waves rather than competing, until Tom eventually returned to the contest scene. Highlights of his career include winning a BLU Open event at Fistral Beach and claiming the Welsh Longboard title at the Welsh Surfing Championships.
In 2024, he earned the honor of representing Wales at the ISA World Longboard Championships in El Salvador, taking his talents to the international stage.
Now, as he prepares to compete for Wales, Tom’s journey from Llangennith to El Salvador is a testament to his lifelong passion and commitment to surfing.
Thank you all for the support so far!
